I purchase two of these cards for my 12 core mac pro, what's the best setup? First card as GPGPU, and second card to connect 2 monitors?

I'm wondering what's the best set up to fully take advantage of these cards' power.
I have 2 monitors, a 30 and a 27 inch, work with 3D/2D and high end editing and FX applications. If purchase two of these cards for my 12 core mac pro, what's the best setup? First card as GPGPU, and second card to connect 2 monitors?

OR

One monitor on each card?

Thanks,

  • If it were me, I'd put one monitor on each card. My CUDA-enabled applications should be able to tap into the cores on both cards, and one card per monitor distributes display resources/frame buffer memory evenly.

Hopefully the cards will start shipping soon, and you'll be able to test out each setup with the specific apps you're using.
