I have the iBook G4 and it has 1GB of memory and i was wondering if this item works for the iBook G4?

This RAM is not compatible even with the most recent G4 iBook released in 2005. I don't know which version you have, but if you have the 2005 version the RAM you need is PC2 2700 DDR 333MHz. Your processor isn't compatible with the DDR2 RAM. Also, Apple only supports upgrading to 1.5GB of RAM, so this 4GB would be too much for your iBook. You might be able to get away with 2GB, but it could be a stretch.
