I have an iMac 1.83 Ghz Intel Core Duo. Will airport Extreme work with it? I have heard that this particular model cannot be used with AXtr

  • There is no reason why your iMAC should not work with the Airport Extreme. The software requires you to be at 10.5.7.

    your iMAC has these technical specifications: Built-in 10/100/1000BASE-T (Gigabit); built-in 54 Mbps AirPort Extreme Wi-Fi (802.11g) which translates into; "YES" :) you can use the airport extreme either by using a cable (RJ45) or by using wireless.

    Note: to setup the AirPort Extreme Base Station you do need to plug a network cable (RJ45) into the back of it and then into the back of your iMAC to configure it initially.
