Moshi 800 to 400 FireWire Adapter
Product No Longer Available
I have a Mac Book Pro with 1 FW 800 port. Is it possible to run multiple devices through the one port? If so, how?

Most firewire devices have two firewire ports, so you can connect one device to the computer, and the second device to the first device, and so on.
A hub is only needed if you have devices with just one port, (eg. camcorder) or if you want to be able to remove devices in the middle. Also, a quirky or malfunctioning device can disrupt other devices down the chain, so sometimes a hub can be more stable then a long firewire chain.- Answered by Allan R from Niles

Need a firewire 800 hub or a daisy chain port on first device and additional cables. The hub is probably a better idea. Ref: Belkin FireWire 6-Port Hub (F5U526-APL) and others
