I currently own a BT Homehub - can Airport Extreme replace it?

My homehub isn't giving me a good enough range, so can AE replace it?

Yes you can. I have one of these with my BT Broadband and have been using it for over a year.Excellant performance and coverage. I have it coupled with and airport Extreme, TimeCapsule, AppleTv and BT HH v2 - works perfect, no droputs.Easier to set up on a mac than windows thoughTo connect it to your ADSL you need a DSL modem (only common one is a Draytek Vigor 120) or another router which defeats the purpose. I have the Draytek. The modem (or second router) goes between your DSL connection and the WAN porton the Airport

  • No it wont ! The AEBS does not include an ADSL Modem or DSL line input so you would need to connect a DSL modem to it or use your home hub as the modem.
The big advantage is you can isolate your AEBS network from another network for security and it has great performance and range

I'm going to add it in my new house with Draytek Vigor 120 modem as the BT HH has been a pain with the my MacBook, continually needing resetting and if a PC joins it the Macs seem to get dumped off!
