How well doe it integrate with SharePoint?

Up until now Mac users using Office Mac have not been able to enjoy the full SharePoint experience. When you attempt to edit a document within a sharepoint document library with a Mac Office product SharePoint does not recognise that the Mac Office product is an Office App and makes you check out the doc, download it, edit it and then re-uplod.

Also Mac users are not able to view lists in Datasheet view in SP.

Has any of this changed with Office 2011

  • Access to files stored on a SharePoint server requires connectivity to Microsoft Office SharePoint Server 2007 or later.
    Co-authoring requires SharePoint 2010 or a Windows Live ID
