Current (Wattage) is different to Voltage. Where as Voltage provides a constant stream of whatever it is rated at (in this case 5V), the current only draws what is needed. So if you were to plug in an iPhone to any of the plugs it would provide 1.2A (6W) and if you plugged an iPad in it would provide 2.4A (12W). Hope that clarifies things a bit.

USB is 5 Volts. The specs for this product say it can deliver 2.4 Amps. If that's true, 2.4 Amps x 5 Volts is 12 Watts.
