How many Nests will I need for a 1100 square foot home? I currently have one "regular" thermostat.

Also, in general, how many square feet will one Nest thermostat cover?

    You only need one Nest to replace your one existing thermostat.

  • You only need one Nest for each existing thermostat. Square foot coverage is normally a only factor in purchasing the heating/cooling system itself and not the thermostats.

    If you upgraded your system to be multi-zone you would need multiple thermostats, but that often requires replacing the entire system and is not something normally considered before its time due to the cost.
