Battery life is a very tricky issue and there's no definitive answer. Many factors go in to determining how long a charge will last. For instance, if the device is on a pet (which never rests) or in a remote location (far from a cell tower), the battery will run down more quickly. Additionally, users can determine how often the device receives locates, and the more often the device is locating the quicker the battery will run down.
Using 5 minute locate intervals, I have experienced 6 days of battery life, but I live in an urban area and am using the device for my young daughter; every user's experience will probably be a little different.
PocketFinder works on the GSM network, so it will work just about anywhere in the world that uses GSM signal (which is most places). Keep in mind, if you're using the device outside of the US and Canada, additional roaming charges will apply.
