How close do you have to be with your bluetooth device?

It depends on what type of devices your connecting it to (i.e. what version of bluetooth the device has), but in most cases it would be roughly 10 meters

Depends, if your out in the open i think the range is up 9 meters, but inside a building this will drop some what. i have noticed sometimes i will lose signal when my ipad or iphone is in another room.
