does this drive work with the thunderbolt seagate goflex desk? looking for the appropriate drives to swap in and out.

Yes it does! I own both, and the packaging states that the 'adapter' on the bottom can be swapped out for the Thunderbolt adapter when it comes out. The Thunderbolt adapter has been out for a few months, and it works just find with the previous go flex desk hard drives just fine.
