Does the microphone and volume control work with the iPod Touch 3rd Gen?

The iPod Touch 3rd Gen does not appear in the compatibility list, while the 2nd Gen does. Is this an omission or are there differences that make them incompatible?

    I've tested these with my mate's iPod touch 3rd Gen and it appears to be working fine, the song changing/volume control works perfectly. Must have just been a publishing error or something.

  • they do work, i have a third gen and these ear buds come with it (32 and 64 gb, not 8gb)
