Does the Magellan or the TOMTOM work with the ITOUCH 4th generation (the one with camera)

    Whilst to TomTom app works well with the 4th G iTouch and the Megellan Car Kit, it does not charge it up.
    So the app only works for about 1 1/2 hours before the battery runs out.
    I am not sure if it needs a special Megallan cable though as i
    I was using a Tom Tom cable.
    Maybe the wiring for the Magellan is different?

  • I just purchased the Magellan Car kit. At the back of the box it says, it will work with 2nd G ipod touch. I have a second generation Ipod touch and just tested it, the GPS receiver worked just fine, great reception, but I realize that I need to purchase a turn by turn navigation app for another whopping 50 bucks. I am trying to check if it will work with other free apps. The Free TomTom app did not work with this device.

    Also, I am a bit disappointed that the kit does not have a rechargeable battery, would be good to have that just in case your car battery is out!!!
