Thank you for that answer. I've been back from Brazil 2 weeks already, but I still appreciate people taking time to answer, and let me update my findings: Yes, same plugs/adapters/connections and voltage (220V) as in USA -- in fact in the Sao Paulo and other Brazilian airports, they have free charging outlets that everyone can connect into while in transit. I think it would be of great benefit to Apple to make a notation on their packaging stating Brazil uses the SAME adapter and this kit is not needed, and/or come up with a compact charger for travel if it uses the same 220V. The upcoming Olympics in Rio in 2016 is going to be a major destination and they can make a ton of money if they market, inform and even come up with a "light" version of its adapter. Just FYI, I am not advocating this because I am Brazilian, I am Italian-American citizen who could not find/obtain this info prior to my visit and I hope this info is shared with all those in the future who travel.

Brazil uses the American-type plug AND the 2-prong European plug. Some outlets will accept both. The voltage varies: some parts of Brazil are 110v and some are 220v (unfortunately, they look exactly the same).
