It comes with a hard travel case that has the 'bose' label written on it, also if you click the image it will have other ones below it that will show everything that comes with it. It also comes with a plug that fits into the airplane entertainment systems, the normal stereo/ipod jack and a bigger one

Yes. The carrying case is comparable to the case with the QC15.
Although the QC15 is the newer, and most recent, version of the QC3, I preferred the QC3. The QC3's earpieces are smaller and fit on the ear, as opposed to the QC15 which has larger earpieces. The QC3 also has a rechargeable lithium ion battery. The QC15 uses AAA batteries. I found it a good idea to buy a second lithium-ion battery for the QC3, which would be ready to be used when the first wears down. It sounds expensive, but in the long run it beats the frequent replacements of the AAA batteries for the QC15.
The QC15 is being held as a superior product. I would not be surprised if the QC3 were eventually discontinued.
I was very satisfied with both. They both have the ability to be worn to eliminate noises which are consistent (e.g. airplane engines) but not rapidly changing noises (e.g. babies crying). When listening to music, calls, or watching films, they still block out the outside noises, permitting less distraction.
