  • Short answer: YES for both.

Because the XBox 360 does not have wireless networking built-in, if you use an AirPort Express as a wireless bridge with your AirPort Extreme Base Station in an expanded network configuration, you gain some advantages. Expand your Base Station wireless network with an AirPort Express, then plug the XBox 360 directly into the Express's ethernet port via an ethernet cable and eliminate the need for the Microsoft wireless network adaptor for the XBox 360. At the same time you give yourself the ability to stream iTunes from your desktop/laptop to your entertainment system via an audio cable plugged into the AirPort Express.

Connecting your 360 via ethernet to the Express on an expanded network also eliminates the cumbersome task of trying to configure wireless security settings on your XBox 360 console. Just plug it in and everything works without additional configuration hassle.

  • No - Not completely. The XBOX 360 wireless adapter does not support WPA2 encryption. Your AirPort will need to be made less secure in order to be compatible wirelessly.

  • Sort off. I am having issues with Netflix and my Xbox 360 Elite. I can play games, I can watch game previews. But as soon as I get into Netflix, it sometimes hangs up on me.

I noticed a subtle improvement when I changed the IP protocol to a 192.168.x.x rather than the default 10.xx.x.x.

I am connecting with a Ethernet port rather than wireless.

I don't have a Playstation 3 so i can not comment on that.

  • I would imagine that works just fine - like it does with the Airport Express (I have a PS3 and an Airport Express).
