data transfer rates for Airport Extreme base station?

looking for a wireless router and specs I found say that Airport Extreme base station has a data transfer rate of between 11 and 54 Mbps on 802.11a/b/g while the Linksys E4200 has data transfer rates of up to 300-450 Mbps. This seems to be quite a large difference and was wondering what the actual data transfer rates via WiFi are for the Airport Extreme base station and how do they compare with actual data transfer rates of other brands of similar routers. Thanks.

  • Your old information is certainly not pertinent to this new Apple part number MD031LL/A, which has improved range and data transfer rates, but it is not even pertinent to the previous 2-year old MC340LL/A model which in 2009 was Wi-Fi certified as 802.11a/b/g/n.
