Could I use this as an extension cord from my Ipad to my original first edition Bose Ipod sound dock to transmit through the Bose?

I have the original Bose Ipod docking station, can't use with the Ipad or newest versions of Ipod or I get a warning on the Ipod, Ipad or Iphone that it is not authorized. I stil have the box and it was made for Ipod, an expensive piece of equipment not to use for what it was bought for.
