No. For airport extreme to distribute a wifi signal it would need a wifi connection. Presently planes do not give you an ethernet cable with your seat, so you would have no broadband connection to plug in and so no wifi for the airport extreme to send out to any devices.

  • An Airport Extreme is an internet router. Even if you were to somehow power it on a plane you would still need an internet source for the airport extreme to project wireless internet. since you would be some thousand feet in the air I highly doubt you would be able to find such a source let alone power it.

NOTE: most airliners ban wireless signals from wireless devices while in flight.

  • No, you may not use Airport Extreme on a plane. There are some flights that offer wifi that let you connect your iPhone, iPod, or Mac to.

  • I don't know of any airline that gives you an ethernet hand-off. So no, not unless you have that.

  • Most airlines do not support in flight wireless networking, so you won't be able to use your Airport Extreme card on most flights, although if your airline does have in flight wifi, then you will be able to- although the service isn't usually inexpensive.

  • The Airport Extreme could be used anywhere there is a wired internet connection, and yes you can use it to connect an iPhone via Wi-Fi. However if you are referring to a commercial flight I don't believe they would allow you to use it.

  • No because planes do not have ethernet access/cables. If a plane has wifi then you wouldn't need the airport and you would connect directly from your iphone. Ask your airline.
