Can you pay employees from Quickbooks professional for Mac Book Pro 2012. Will it calculate all necessary taxes?
I am currently using Quickbooks professional 2009 in Windows. I would like to purchase Quickbooks professional for Mac Book Pro 2012. I have been informed in the past that the mac version does not support paying employees and calculating taxes. Also will I be able to convert data from the windows version to the mac version. Is this true?

QuickBooks for Mac integrates with QuickBooks Payroll for Mac, a payroll solution made by Intuit. The two integrate, so your paycheck information (e.g. withholdings, tax liabilities, etc.) is sent to QuickBooks for accurate reports. Because it's web-based, you can access the payroll solution away from your office computer (at home or on vacation). There's also an iPhone app.
Note however that QuickBooks Payroll for Mac is quite different from QuickBooks Payroll in Windows. Although your old paychecks will convert and your account balances will be accurate, QuickBooks for Mac does not offer any payroll reports. You will also have to set up QuickBooks Payroll for Mac from scratch.
