Can you partition this drive?

I'd like to set up a separate partition dedicated to Time Machine.

    Yes, using Disk Utility you can partition, change the RAID mode, etc. Inside are two independent disk drives. They coe from the factory striped as one RAID-0 volume.

    You could use Disk Utility to partition or to change the RAID-0 striping into two or mor separate volumes.
