Can you operate a 24in cinema display as a second display as the last device in the thunderbolt chain off this drive

    Yes you can. If you're using the MBP's this is the ideal type of daisy-chain connection since the TB Displays should be at the end of the connection. However if you have a TB-based iMac then it will do both regardless of the order.
