Can you dock the iPad 2 with an otter box defender series? It has a door type thing for this purpose I believe

    No, the bottom of the otter box will restrict this. The door on the bottom is for connecting any regular charger cable. The dock is too wide and thin to fit the otterbox.

  • Like stated above, the dock doesn´t fit in stock form. I just had the dock machined to fit into the opening of the otterbox rear - now the front lip is in the way. There would be the need to machine the lip on the inner side - that can´t be done because it´s no full material but hollow. So no luck with the Apple dock - I´ll be trying the Philips DLC2407 next - it´s made for an iPhone, but hopefully it´ll work with the iPad 2 as well.
