Can the iPhone be positioned both horizontally and vertically in this mount?

I would like to know if I can use GPS apps that require the phone to be horizontal with this mount. Also, does a window vs. dashboard mount affect the vertical/horizontal positioning of the phone?

    Yes you can just rotate it to whatever position you like.
