can the cover be used also for everyday use without the armband?

It can but its not practical. The case it sits in is not something i would keep it in all the time. The screen film that covers the phone does not sit right on the phone screen so using it is like pushing on the cover to get to the screen. If you do not care to do this then go for it but a lot of the buttons are also not accessible while in the case. I hope this helps.
