Can it be used for overnight hiking?
My son sleepwalks a bit infrequently and we're worried on an overnight hiking trip with school that he may sleepwalk. We would like to put some kind of locater with him monitor his position. Does this sound like it would be a good fit?

This is a great fit! I have a son in Boy Scouts and he takes one with him on all of their outings. What you might want to check is the 2G AT&T wireless coverage of the area where he will be. PocketFinders send their location information via AT&T's data network. You'll find that data can often work even in areas just outside of voice coverage. Another suggestion is to purchase your PocketFinder a head of time so that you are familiar with the product and have ample time to activate it and show your son all of the cool things that it does before the trip. I recommend the iPhone and iPad App PocketFinder 2 for seeing where your son is during the trip. I hope you can all enjoy looking at each locate in history and him telling you about the trip when he gets back. Something that I have very much enjoyed!
