No You need the lightning sd card connector. Just eke out the sd card from your camera and pop it into the cable. Easy peasy. The cable is £25. Steep but makes things easy.

Nope. You either need the SD to Lightning adapter from Apple to copy photos by plugging your sd card into it, or the Nikon WU-1a Wireless Mobile Adapter that will transfer photos to your iphone or ipad via wireless (and allow for some remote control capabilities as well)

no. you need the lightning USB or SD camera connection kit to transfer photos from any digital camera to the iPad.
this product is designed for video output only.
