can I use them on the beach with my i phone or ipod tocuh only or has to be plugged in to eletrical outlet?

Enjoyed about 2 to 3 hrs of play-time with an i-pod during a beach trip last summer after having "charged" the speakers. The lite diode changes from "red" to "blue" when the battery is full, just check before you head out. I have also had the same experience playing for about 3 hrs off an i-pod when there was not a usb port in the hotel room.
