Can the laptop recognize your wireless network? If not, it may be that the laptop is not truly 802.11n capable. If the AirPort Utility setting for the "Radio Mode:" is set as "802.11n only (5GHz)" that setting will prevent your network from being visible to non-802.11n 5GHz devices. Change the setting to "802.11n (802.11b/g compatible)" and then "Update" - to see if that setting makes a difference.
In addition, when you setup with AirPort Utility you specified a network name and password, and selected the type of wireless security. All connecting devices must use the exact same, without any deviation.
