Can an ethernet port linkup on the extreme base station be used for a 3TB 'Home Network Hard Drive' in the same way the USB port makes HD's wireless?
I would like to use a 3TB 'Home Network Drive' for streaming my movies and music over my wireless network. It uses an ethernet cable to transfer data (much faster than USB 2.0), and would work by plugging it into my Extreme Base Station's spare ethernet port. Will Airport Utility immediately recognise it as a Hardrive?- or is the Extreme Base Station restricted to only ready Hard Drives via the USB port? Thanks alot!

Your Ethernet-based NAS will continue to work as it does now, but you'll gain the ability to connect to it wirelessly.
The AirPort Extreme won't recognize it at anything but an ethernet device, as it's not a hard drive; it's a teeny little server.
