can a time capsule, backing up my mac wirelessly, back up another external hard drive connected to the mac that i store my iphoto library on?

i have an external hard drive that has permissions ignored so that two separate users can edit iphoto w/o corrupting it. Will time capsule automatically back up this drive as well?
If not how can I back it up?

    Yes, as long as the external drive is connected to the Mac via USB, it will be backed up by Time Machine.
