Yes. I purchased a set of Skullcandy earbuds and was rather disappointed in their reproduction of mid low end. Also, I found that when I turned up the volume the Skullcandy earbuds biased towards the midrange, loosing what low end (bass) response they had. In short, I was disappointed with them.
I decided to purchase the Apple in-ear headphones. Knowing there was a 14 day return policy I figured it wasn't that much of a gamble. What a difference! In my opinion these are much better in faithfully reproducing a good clean flat response across the full spectrum with excellent attention to subtle detail (good dynamic range) meaning you'll hear what was recorded in the studio, nothing more or less. I'm quite pleased with these earbuds.

i have not tried the skullcandy ones, but personally, these are the best headphones i've had in awhile. the sound quality is great and you start to catch little details you wouldn't have noticed before. plus they're great for bus/subway/airplane rides, where the background noise is almost unbearable sometimes.
