are there ear buds for the ipod similar to bluetooth to avoid wires while working out

Bluetooth = Wireless = Batteries required = Bulky = No in-ear.

There are some "round the neck" models that might do what you want. I believe Sony make some excellent ones, they also do Bluetooth adapters for iPods.

I've seen some excellent strap-on ipod holders that are designed specifically for working out - they hold your ipod, plus most of the headphone cable, so everything is out of the way while you pump iron, do aerobics, etc.

Sennheiser have some bluetooth models as well, but I don't know about suitability for active lifestyles :-)
