Are the remote and microphone part of the built-in headphone cord or are they part of the detachable cord?

    The remote and mic is part of the detachable cord. That means that you can use the detachable cord as an iPhone adapter for any standard headphones. I have these headphones and they are GREAT. My daughter has the Skullcandy with the built in mic/controls, and the Philips / Oneil sounds better and is more functional (due to the detachable cord/controls) for $60 less. I'm glad Apple stocked these.

  • the remote is part of the cord which connects the the audio device to the jack on the headphones. it does not detach from this cord.
