i let mine run for 24 hours straight with medium volume.. cranking it at times.. lower at times, different music etc.. not necessarily listening of course.. so .. the "break in" is a very very subjective phenomenon .. do mine sound better.. .. they sound GREAT...

I've just purchased these and been looking for the same answer - the general consensus seems to be approx. 50 hours.

I found that I noticed a big difference at about 24 hours and thought that would be as good as it got, but somewhere around 60 hours they really opened up. At that point I listened to the Grados and Senns that I had been using before and could not believe what I had been missing before I got the P5s.
