Could I use this cable as a replacement for my Beats by Dr Dre studio headphones cable?

I just went to best buy and bought to that same cable and it didn't work. The plastic around the port and the plastic on the jack does not let you connect it.

the quality of the cable is comparable, but sadly, the tips of the cable are too thick to be placed into the headphone port.
