You can't do powerpoint even with the iPod touch or iPhone. You can only view pictures and videos if you are using it with your iPod touch or iPhone. However, I think if you can find a VGA to A/V cable, you might be able to connect your laptop to the projector.

I have not used this device myself yet, but I am thinking of buying it if go on holidays and want to watch a movie on my ipod in a larger format.
I can though tell you from experience that for a group of 15-20 adults it should be the right size. also you cannot run powerpoint on an ipod, unless you have an Ipod touch, in which case you might be able to view a powerpoint presentation if you sent it to your self as an attachment via e-mail- Answered by GU from Hamburg

While you cant run powerpoint on an ipod, you can view powerpoint presentations by first saving them either as a series of images - jpgs (easiest for control over timing) or as a movie (best if the powerpoint relies on effects or sound).
Both microsoft and keynote have options for these exports.- Answered by IH from Dundee

Yes, you can use the PK101 as a projector for presentations, but not Powerpoint unless you also do the following recommendation. If an iPod Touch or iPhone has Keynote as the presentation source, then convert the file(s) to quicktime and play or say each Keynote slide as a JPEG and use Slide Show.
