    Yes, indeed it is (3 months onwards). Beware of a possible problem. Your scanner "may" power off of the computer goes to sleep. No fix for it yet. Otherwise, it works beautifully in oS X 10.8.2 (and you don't need to install the Canon Software. Scanning from within OS X 10.8 is built in).
