    Yes. I have the exact same setup. Here's how.

    Plug the surge suppressor into wall socket.
    Plug iPad charger into one of the three outlets and connect to iPad.
    Plug iPhone charger into one of the three outlets and connect to iPhone OR use just the USB cable to plug iPhone into one of two USB ports on surge suppressor.

    Bottom line: USB ports won't charge iPad. That's what the three outlets are for.
