Need for Speed Carbon

I have a 2.53 Ghz mac mini (released 10/20/09) w/ 4 GB RAM. The description says this game will not run on GMA950 shared graphics. Has anyone tried?

  • You don't have an Intel GMA950, you have an NVIDIA 9400M. I don't know the specs of the game, but you should be able to run it with no problem. The Intel GMA950 was only put in earlier Intel Mac minis prior to the March 2009 model, and the NVIDIA chip is vastly superior to it. Have fun!

  • It'll work fine. Not only that, the Mac Mini you have is a couple generations newer than the GMA950. Your Nvidia 9400M will work for it, and your 4GB RAM increases the performance of the graphics considerably. Before the 9400M, there was the Intel X3100 (which actually still gets supported since it has the hardware T&L support that the GMA950 doesn't have), and before that, it was the GMA950. They make a note to post about GMA950 because there are still plenty of Mac systems in use with GMA950s in them. And those Macs, are still supported to use the latest Mac operating systems, tools, and general software.
