Concerning this CS Electronic Fiber optic cable:  Is this like a "splitter", getting two out of one outlet?

No. Many Fiber "connector plugs" actually utilize TWO strands of fiber. 1 to "talk" in each direction simultaneously. This fiber cord generally plugs into an SFP, which itself, plugs into a socket on a fiber channel card. Search the Apple store for item: TK720LL/A. That's an SFP. You generally need one in each socket on a Fiber Channel Switch.

  • If you do not understand how fibre optics work, and in particular this product then steer clear. This is a network cable and nothing to do with audio/visual. It is split because of the way fibre communications work.....
