    According to Beats, these use the Bluetooth 2.1+EDR profile. However, they also support A2DP and have full mp3, AAC, and aptX compatibility. Even though these do not offer the higher bandwidth of Bluetooth 4.0, they still have better technology than most Bluetooth headphones since they will directly work with the digital audio output of an iOS device (even a 7G iPod nano). With A2DP, there is no need for Bluetooth 4.0.
