will this new 12W adapter work with 1st generation iPad?  Will it increase the charging time of 1st, 2nd or 3rd generation iPads?

    Yes, this 12W adapter will work with all generation iPads, and it's been reported to charge the older iPads faster than their original chargers (in some cases by up to 10% or so).

  • It should actually decrease the charging time. For 1st and 2nd gen, it won't be a drastic difference but for the 3rd gen, it will be noticeable.
