Is there a iPad 4th generation?

I was looking at the new adaptors for the iPad Mini and the new Touch. Also listed was the iPad 4th generation. Is there a 4th generation? I thought it was the iPad 1, iPad 2, iPad 3 or just iPad (just out last March)? Thank you for any assistance you can provide.

    Apple released the ipad 4 or "iPad with retina display" (and lightning connector and A6X processor) at the same time they released the iPad Mini and new iMacs

  • Yes, iPad 4th gen was announced in Apple Special Event, 23 Oct 2012 and will be available starting from 2 Nov 2012. The most notable differences are new (and faster) processor A6X and Lightning connector.
