When travelling I would like to take one cord, would I use this item with my usb cord for my Iphone 4s and Ipad Mini?

I have my regular travelling cord and adapter. I have recently boughten an Ipad Mini (obviously I have not gotten it yet) but what I am wondering is if I buy this item can I use it with the cord for my Iphone 4s and Ipad Mini? I do not want to bring a bunch of cords with me..... does this make sense?
