Should the Lightning to 30-pin Adapter work with my 30 pin BMW y cable?
I have tried but the connection keeps dropping

Mine works fine, but the iphone 5 with the adapter makes it too big to fit into the lower console of my 550i. I'm purchasing the .2m (8") adapter and hope it works as well but allows me to store the phone outside the console.
