does this have storage
like is it an external hard drive or just a disc drive? if so how many gigs?

Answer
it has no storage, as it is an optical drive used to burn media, like CDs and DVDs. you can backup your data on those, but you cannot save anything on the superdrive itself, as it is not a hard disk, it is used to burn media only (also to read media and install apps from there)
