some back covers have built in magnets to hold the smart cover in place while the iPad is in use

  • The roll up of the three folds results in the magnets of the first fold attracting to the third fold. It will stay in the folded 'triangle' until you manually unfold it. Very nice.

  • No, don't believe so. The IPAD slides/snaps into place and the cover which is permanently attached to the back cover folds over top.

  • This front cover doesn't appear to use magnets to attach to the iPad, so It would make sense that the front piece and back piece are not held together by magnets.
