  • No, it is designed for the ipad 2,3,4 because the ipad 1 is thicker

  • I am afraid not. I had iPad, generation 3 for some time and the smart case looked and fitted nicely; though not as snugly as the black case produced by Apple, fitted iPad, generation 1. Hope this answers your question.
