Does the Smart Cover iPad cover both side front and back

    No, it does not. The iPad Smart Cover will only cover the front screen side of the iPad, leaving the aluminum side subjected to scratches, scrapes, etc. If you plan to use your iPad as you would a desktop computer, that is, mostly stationary on a desk or stand, the Smart Cover iPad could be used.

    The other option is the iPad Smart Case. It covers both sides (front and back) of the iPad. The portability of the iPad may require more protection for some users, thus making the choice of an iPad Smart Case more appropriate.
